The big moment in Star Wars history continues to get closer and Force Friday marks a milestone on the path to that big moment. The big moment of course being “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, a film that is set to be released in theaters on December 16th. Rogue One will be the first of the Star Wars films to not be a part of the original series. Instead, fans will be taken into a story of new heroes from the vast universe that Star Wars takes place in.
The plot line of Rogue One revolves around a group of rebel soldiers who go on an impossible mission to steal plans for the original Death Star. While the actual product lines are still under wraps, it is believed that fan-favourite Darth Vader will be making an appearance along with a newly designed light-saber.
According to cast member Donnie Yen, there will also be three differing Stormtrooper helmets, including a black helmet said to belong to the ‘Death Troopers’ and it is also rumoured that iconic characters such as Boba Fett, a young Han Solo and the Sith Lord will be making appearances.
Star Wars fans will no doubt be eagerly awaiting for Force Friday on September 30th when Hasbro releases its first wave of official merchandise tailored around the arrival of the first-ever Star Wars spinoff. The announcement of the 2nd annual event was made earlier this year at the 2016 Toy Fair, although rumours were soon spreading across the net that unlike the Force Awakens event, the offerings for Rogue One will be much more limited.
