“I’m holding out for a hero ’til the end of the night. He’s gotta be strong. And he’s gotta be fast. And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight. I need a hero.” Bonnie Tyler
According to Wikipedia, a superhero is defined as a type of costumed heroic character who possesses supernatural or superhuman powers and who is dedicated to fighting crime, protecting the public, and usually battling super villains, who are their criminal counterparts.
And if you are after a hero of your own then our Super Heroes Collection is definitely the place to start.
For a nostalgic, vintage inspired look, be sure to check out artist Paulo Gattuso who has created a set of images using fine art techniques and a subdued colour palette. Perfect to compliment a more traditional room setting, this “grown up” style still allows us the freedom to celebrate our child hood heroes.
If you have a modern room setting and are looking to add a stunningly bright explosion of colour, choose from one of the many Pop Art pieces created by Mark Ashkenazi. These pieces are created in a “Lichtenstein” style that utilizes dots, to convey an automated printing technique.
For another interesting art technique, be sure to look at our Poly shaped collection, created by talented artist Christos Ellinas, who uses a limited colour palette, instead relying on polygon shapes to add depth and interest. This popular technique called “Low Poly” creates images by using a polygon mesh and often takes many days to create such intricate detailing.
Another favourite of ours is New York based artist Nigel Carrington, whose illustrations feature figures that are dark and mysterious, and yet still reminiscent of the original comic strip characters.
With such a wide variety of differing styles and characters, there’s lots to tempt you so simply click here to discover the entire collection for yourself.
